Carol's Cottage sleeps up to 6 guests — two bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa in the living room.

The upstairs primary bedroom has a king bed and a private ensuite bathroom. The main level bedroom has a Tempurpedic queen bed with a private bathroom directly adjacent — no shared bathrooms between bedrooms. The living room has a sleeper sofa for the third set of guests.

Carol's Cottage sits on the edge of The Galena Territory — making it one of the closest homes in the community to historic downtown Galena, approximately 10 minutes away. Most Galena Territory properties sit deeper into the community with a longer drive out. Carol's Cottage gives guests quick access to Galena's boutique shops, wine tasting, fine dining, and year-round events, while still enjoying the full privacy and amenities of the Territory.

Every Carol's Cottage stay includes six Galena Territory Owners Club access cards. These provide access to:

Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa — four championship courses — is approximately five minutes from Carol's Cottage. Discounted golf passes are available exclusively for guests — ask at booking to add golf to your stay. Stonedrift Spa is also located at Eagle Ridge.

The Galena Territory is a 6,800-acre private recreational and residential community in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, six miles east of historic Galena. It features Lake Galena, 31 miles of trails, a marina, a recreation complex with indoor and outdoor pools, and Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa. Carol's Cottage is located within The Settlement — one of the Territory's most charming residential neighborhoods.

Carol's Cottage uses a smart lock for self check-in. Three days before your arrival date, you will receive house information and arrival instructions. Your unique door code will be sent one day before arrival. Check-in is at 4:00 PM.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Checkout is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late checkout may be available but can only be confirmed the day before arrival and are not guaranteed.

Yes. Carol's Cottage can be booked directly through The Collection Vacation Homes. Direct booking avoids third-party platform service fees.

Carol's Cottage has the following cancellation policy:

• More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund, less a $75 cancellation fee
• More than 14 days before arrival: 50% refund, less a $75 cancellation fee
• Within 14 days of arrival: No refund

We enforce our cancellation policy as written — if something comes up after booking, we won't be able to make exceptions. This is exactly why we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel insurance is available through Airbnb, VRBO, or directly through The Collection Vacation Homes.

Rental Agreement. A rental agreement must be e-signed within 48 hours of booking acceptance. After your booking is confirmed, watch the message thread — a link to the agreement will arrive within a few minutes. Signing promptly keeps your reservation secure.

Guest Count & Names. An accurate guest count is required at the time of booking — please review carefully before submitting. All guests must be named in the rental agreement. Maximum occupancy is specified in your agreement and is strictly enforced.

ID Verification. The primary renter must upload a photo of their driver's license or other government-issued ID to the rental agreement. The primary renter must be at least 25 years old and must be present for the full duration of the stay.

No Parties or Events. Private events and parties of any kind are not permitted at Carol's Cottage.

No Smoking. Smoking of any kind — including vaping and marijuana — is strictly prohibited inside the home and within 15 feet of any doors or windows.

Quiet Hours. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM. Carol's Cottage is situated within a residential community with many full-time residents. We ask all guests to be mindful of noise levels — indoors and out — during quiet hours.

Linen Damage. Guests are responsible for damage to linens — sheets, quilts, comforters, and towels — beyond normal wear. Replacement costs will be assessed and charged to the reservation.

Pets. Carol's Cottage is dog-friendly — up to 2 dogs, 30 lbs max per dog, $150/dog fee. Please disclose your dogs at booking. If evidence of an unauthorized or undisclosed pet is found, a $500 fee will be charged.

Rule Violations. Violation of any house rules may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation without refund.
